NFC North preview

Can anyone upset the three peat division winning Packers? New coaches in Minnesota & Chicago will try, as will hard knocks star Dan Campbell & his improving Lions team.

1). Minnesota Vikings - new offensive minded coach Kevin O’Connell will hope to spark life into the talented quartet of Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson & Adam Theilen, which would help of course. A trade busy draft covered many areas of need & has potential if the picks work out. Given the talent on this roster & the retooling of the packers I think they might just pinch the division.

2). Green Bay packers - the loss of star wideout daVante Adams & the quick Valdez-Scantling will hurt this team despite bringing in Christian Watson & Sammy Watkin. They will rely on the run pair AJ Dillon & Aaron Jones plus of course Aaron Rodgers & their sound defence. Certainly playoff contenders but may just fall short in division race.

3). Detroit Lions - second year head coach Dan Campbell now has his mark all over this team. Upgrade at O/C with Ben Johnson & a great draft of Aiden Hutchinson & Jameson Williams (when healthy) will really improve this team. Jared Goffs confidence seems restored after a good camp & he now has weapons on offence, improvement & outside playoff shot here.

4). Chicago Bears - new head coach Matt Eberfus will need time to put his stamp on things. A lot will depend on Justin Fields development but you can’t help but feel he’s short of a few weapons. Bears only had 3 picks in the top 100 & not much free cash for free agency. It was looking like a tricky season but has just been made harder by Roquan Smiths trade request after a strange offer from the Bears. Uncertainty abounds & its 4th place for me.
