Fascinating division this one with only the Panthers who are rebuilding from the Bryce Young trade really out of contention for the crown. Here’s how we see it:
Saints - New Orleans have drafted well & strengthened their O Line with Fuaga & cornerback with McKinstry. Chase Young & Willie Gay came in free agency & should help the defence. Derek Carr should show his best this year & coupled with an easier schedule could land the division title.
Falcons - big moves at QB in the offseason with Kirk Cousins & Michael Penix added to the already talented roster. Players such as Robinson & Pitts should prosper under Cousins & they will certainly be competitive. The issue might be at cornerback after losing Jeff okudah to Houston.
Buccaneers - baker mayfield earned his deal last year as the Buccs didn’t drop off post Tom Brady as most people expected. Dave Canales has gone & how will this affect baker? The receiving core remains & they still have good players but with the tougher schedule as division winners we opt for 3rd but top spot is in reach.
Panthers - after 63 sacks Bryce young will hope for better protection in year 2, Damien Lewis & Robert hunt were added to help this. Diontae Johnson joined from Pittsburgh which could help young too. Defensively they lost their best player Brian burns & DJ Woonum has come in to try to fill the big shoes, hard task for anyone. Carolina needs to see what they have in young & regroup as the draft fallout is only settling down now after Chicago got Caleb Williams with their pick. We take them for 4th.
